We are building a complete digital healthcare ecosystem for Kings College Hospital Jeddah, transforming their online presence from a legacy WordPress site into five integrated platforms. Next.js, Flutter, and a Node.js GraphQL API power a hospital website, patient portal, doctor portal, admin dashboard, and native mobile app, all hosted on Google Cloud's Saudi Dammam region for PDPL compliance. All 5 products are built in parallel across a 14-week cycle, backed by an ongoing content and AI visibility retainer producing 70 bilingual pages per month.

Kings College Hospital Jeddah operates as part of the King's College London healthcare network in Saudi Arabia's competitive private hospital market. Despite their prestigious British affiliation, their digital presence lagged significantly behind competitors. Their WordPress site scored 50/100 on mobile Lighthouse, carried 4.5MB page weight with 42 unoptimized images, implemented only 1 of 7 security headers, and their online booking system was broken, redirecting patients to a third-party service. Meanwhile, their primary competitor IMC Jeddah attracted 40,000-60,000 monthly visitors compared to KCHJ's 6,500. The hospital needed a complete digital transformation that matched their clinical excellence.

KCHJ runs interconnected HIS, EMR, LIS, and billing systems that must sync in real time with the new digital ecosystem. Building bidirectional data exchange via Cerner HL7 FHIR while maintaining data integrity across appointment scheduling, lab results, and patient records requires careful integration architecture and staging environment isolation to avoid disrupting active clinical workflows.
Next.js + Directus CMS platform with 420+ bilingual content pages, doctor directory with 90+ physician profiles, service catalog across 36 specialty landing pages, and online booking with real-time availability sync. AI search optimization (GEO/AIO) targets visibility across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini with a proprietary 4-layer monitoring system.

Personal health data must remain within Saudi borders under PDPL. Hosting on Google Cloud's Dammam region via CNTXT satisfies data localization, but implementing full consent management, audit trails, and data governance across 5 interconnected products required a compliance-first architecture approach with AES-256 encryption, MFA, and role-based access control from sprint one.
Web application with real-time appointment booking, medical records access, prescription management, and billing dashboard. Availability syncs directly with hospital scheduling systems, and the portal replaces a broken booking flow that previously redirected patients to a third-party service.

The existing WordPress site scores 50/100 on mobile Lighthouse with 2.7s LCP, 42 unoptimized images totaling 4.5MB page weight, and only 1 of 7 security headers implemented. Achieving the guaranteed 90+ score with sub-1.5s loads and all 7 security headers means a complete rebuild on Next.js with WebP conversion, lazy loading, and CDN-first delivery from KSA edge locations.
Clinical workspace with patient lists, appointment management, clinical notes, AI-powered symptom checker, prescription workflows, lab result review, and escalation management. Integrates with Cerner HL7 FHIR for bidirectional clinical data exchange across the hospital's EMR system.

KCHJ currently has zero AI search citations across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini. Building visibility requires a proprietary 4-layer AI rank monitoring system, answer-first content architecture across 420+ bilingual pages, and ongoing optimization with 200+ prompt variations tested weekly to establish KCHJ as the most-cited hospital in Jeddah's AI search landscape.
Flutter app with 18 functional modules covering the full patient journey: profile and family management, appointment booking, medical records, remote health monitoring via wearables (CGM, blood pressure, ECG), Dr. OSLER AI symptom checker with smart triage, digital queue management, indoor wayfinding, doctor messaging, virtual care, and health education content.
Digital-First Healthcare Access
Patients will book appointments online, access medical records, message care teams, manage family members, and monitor health through wearables from a single bilingual platform. The 18-module mobile app replaces a broken booking system that currently redirects to a third-party service, giving patients the digital experience that matches the hospital's clinical excellence.
Closing the Digital Gap
KCHJ will move from 6,500 monthly visitors and a failing Lighthouse score of 50 to a target of 25,000+ visitors and 90+ performance. AI search visibility across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini will position KCHJ as the most digitally visible hospital in Jeddah, directly challenging IMC Jeddah's 40,000-60,000 monthly visitor lead.
Integrated Hospital Operations
Five integrated digital products will replace fragmented manual workflows with real-time data sync across HIS, EMR, LIS, and billing systems. The admin portal gives leadership a single view of operations, while 70 new bilingual content pieces per month drive sustained organic patient acquisition and reduce cost per digital acquisition from SAR 80-150 to under SAR 50.
