Equipment providers had idle fleet capacity but no way to reach contractors outside their personal network. Both sides needed a trusted marketplace that made equipment rental as fast and reliable as ride-hailing.

Saudi construction equipment has no standardized specification format — each provider described the same excavator differently. Creating a taxonomy that was detailed enough for contractors to compare accurately, but simple enough for providers to fill in without errors, took three rounds of field testing.
Equipment availability changes constantly as providers take offline bookings, equipment breaks down, or maintenance is scheduled. Keeping the platform catalogue accurate without requiring providers to manually update after every change required smart sync heuristics and availability confidence scoring.
Three-way financial flows between contractor, platform, and provider — with different VAT treatments, advance payments, and damage deposit rules — required careful payment architecture that satisfied Saudi SAMA regulations and kept dispute resolution manageable.
We built Rental Force on React Native with distinct contractor and provider modes sharing a single codebase.
